SURFACE WORK is an homage to the coal miners in my family, who worked for the company Glencraig Colliery (The Mary Pit), the deepest coal mine in Scotland at 610 m. It is a reflection on the labourious work of these men in Fife, Scotland and their repetative movements in darkness.
